Innovator Spotlight:
Bostica: A Tradition of Excellence
Lynn, MA
Lynn, MA
Although relatively new in the Massachusetts cannabis industry, Bostica is already turning heads with award-winning strains and impressive growth. This is because its culture is anything but “new.” Indeed, Bostica’s rich tradition of excellence extends far beyond its first full opening in 2023.
Bostica Co-Founder and COO, Jarrod Falite, learned how to run a successful business while managing his family’s HVAC business, which, was founded in 1976 and is still in operation. In 2019, Jarrod applied his tools and knowledge from 40+ years of family business experience to Bostica’s 60,000 ft2 facility in Lynn, MA.
Coincidentally, Bostica’s state-of-the-art facility sits adjacent to a baseball field that GE built to showcase its new electric floodlights back in 1928, where Babe Ruth was scheduled to play an exhibition game. Today, a new dream is blossoming indoors under Fluence LEDs and Pipp vertical racks. Bostica is changing the game with ultra-modern automation, environmental control, and efficiency, such as reclaiming condensate for reuse in the facility. In just three years, Bostica has transformed its own field of dreams into a wildly popular brand that is sold in over 120 stores and counting.

Originally, Jarrod and his team had ambitious plans. Their initial goal was to fill both tiers of every flower room as well as a state-of-the-art extraction lab and kitchen fully built out. However, Jarrod’s dedication to excellence and good practices demanded a shift in gears to a slower, more modular ramp.
From the beginning, Bostica focused on disciplined, methodical decision-making. Thorough research and reliable consultants led them to find and install the best equipment even if it meant waiting for its availability. Jarrod did not rush but instead leaned on his pride of workmanship, which he had gleaned from his father in HVAC and construction. He knew there was no turning back and wanted a clean, well-designed vertical facility from floor to ceiling.
Following two years of methodical practice and preparation, Bostica fully opened its doors in 2023 and homered on the first pitch by winning a cannabis cup with an early harvest. Bostica continues its hot streak today with 35,000 ft2 of grow space that produces 100+ grams of high-quality bud per square foot—an all-star average. Despite early success, Bostica is still improving each harvest with minor tweaks. Regardless of industry, every great team is built on a culture of excellence and accountability. This is how Jarrod transferred his family’s success so seamlessly from HVAC to cannabis in short time: the fundamentals are the same.
There are purists who believe that cannabis, like baseball, is a craft that must be pursued for a lifetime. Then there are athletes, like Jackie Robinson, who won a ping pong tournament on the day he learned it, and who was instantly a good baseball player. Simply put, Jackie Robinson was fundamentally sound regardless of sport. Bostica is further proof that solid fundamentals carry over between industries. With twenty strains in production, there are many more big hits to come for Jarrod and his team in the big-league Massachusetts’s cannabis market. Sit back, inhale, relax, and enjoy the show.
