Taylor Kirk is a Cultivation Advisor at Fluence, where he serves as a hands-on resource for commercial growers — providing expert cultivation advice to the company and its customers and collaborating with researchers and other leaders across the cannabis industry. What sets his guidance apart is that he has sat on the other side of it: before advising growers, he built and ran the operations himself.
Kirk directed cultivation at Texas Original, a licensed medical cannabis producer, before stepping up to Vice President of Operations, where he oversaw cultivation, processing, manufacturing, and QA/QC and analytical testing across the business. He is also the owner and operator of 4K Pharm, a Texas-licensed craft hemp farm. That combination of large-scale production leadership and small-batch, craft-level growing gives him a practical read on what actually works in a commercial room.
His areas of focus include yield optimization, precision climate control, pest management, irrigation design, and regulatory compliance. A graduate of Texas A&M University’s agronomy program, Kirk pairs a scientific grounding in crop physiology and soil science with the day-to-day instincts of an operator who has met payroll, passed audits, and brought harvests in on schedule.
